❤️ #67 - Jobs at The LEGO Group

Hi friends!

2025 is coming to close, and honestly, what a year it’s been up. I really hope everyone who started out the year with challenge, are ending the year with it overcome and a brighter outlook for 2026.

This is newsletter number 67… I set out a goal to send out 1 a week. Then I said a 100. But here we are, at 67.

I have had some incredible conversations with those of you who reached out. Ill continue this for another year and see where we go. “Growth” for this list hasn’t really grown. But I guess that’s only one metric to track…

I honestly don’t know what the end goal is. But let’s go!

Happy Job hunting

We Don’t Learn by Doing, We Learn by Thinking About What We Did

John Dewey (A philosopher and educator) put it simply: “We do not learn from experience… we learn from reflecting on experience.”

For designers, this hits close to home.

We ship work.
We run sprints.
We move fast.

But motion isn’t the same as progress.

You can design ten products a year and still repeat the same mistakes, if you never stop to ask why something worked, or didn’t. Experience alone just stacks memories. Reflection turns them into insight.

This is where chiasmus (I just learnt about this term this week) quietly shows up in design.

We design → then we review.
We test → then we interpret.
We fail → then we learn.

The second half matters more than the first. Read that again. Cause if you’ve been part of teams of companies, you only hear the first part…test more, fail fast.

Reflection is where taste sharpens.
It’s where intuition forms.
It’s where mistakes become tools instead of scars.

Without reflection, speed just accelerates confusion.
With it, even small projects compound into mastery.

So the real question isn’t “What have you worked on?”
It’s “What have you learned, and why?”

Design. Pause. Reflect. Repeat.

That’s how experience becomes wisdom.
