“The 3PM Creative Reset”

3PM (or maybe it 2PM, whatever) hits different when you’re a designer.

You’ve been solving visual problems, pushing pixels, thinking in systems… and then—boom. Fog. Frustration. Second-guessing everything.

This isn’t a flaw. It’s your brain asking for a scene change.

Instead of forcing output, shift inputs.

Here’s how I break the 3PM doom loop—designer edition:

• Redesign something for fun: a cereal box, a subway map, your to-do list. No pressure, just play.

• Revisit your swipe file: Get inspired by great design. Let others’ brilliance refill your tank.

• Sketch something analog: Step away from Figma. Grab a pen. Draw like no one’s watching.

• Change your canvas: Move from screen to paper, or from desk to couch. Shifting your medium resets your brain.

• A walk!: Easy, and I look for “Patterns & Designs” in Nature. Simple. Exciting. refreshing

• Call a Friend: Call someone who inspires you. Just do a “hey am just felt like calling you”. Trust me on this!

The key isn’t doing more—it’s doing differently.

Creativity needs rhythm.
And a 3PM ritual might be the exact beat you’ve been missing.
