“He who is everywhere is nowhere.”
“He who is everywhere is nowhere.” - Seneca
I read this today and I wont lie, it hit hard!
As designers, we’re naturally curious. We want to explore every tool, try every trend, join every project, and say yes to every opportunity. But in trying to do everything, we often dilute the very craft we care about most.
This is the trap: being everywhere. The cost? You end up going nowhere.
Here’s what helps:
Focus on fewer, deeper projects. One great case study beats five unfinished ones.
Define your design season. This month, maybe it’s all about motion. Next month, systems. Depth over variety.
Protect your time. Decline the calls that don’t serve your goals. You don’t owe your attention to everything.
Finish more than you start. Execution builds momentum. Completion builds confidence.
Create before you consume. Make space for your own ideas before reacting to everyone else’s.
Designers who stand out aren’t scattered—they’re intentional. They choose where to spend their energy, and they go all in.
Choose your lane. Go deep. Make it count!

Love,
Sid.
